Cave of Reality

what it feels like
to be ripped
and teased
from conscious thought
and propelled
into words painted
with ink and quill
distilled into
images of smoke
and freedom
mashed between
buildings of tormented
hope
and love lost

i want
to help you
feel
the warmth
of a strangers smile
the smile
that erupts
and covers
your canvas heart
with shades of red
orange bliss
and joyful blue.

the steam
of a morning coffee
that wraps its tentacles
around your fingers
gently
tugging
the mist of sleep
from the corners
of your eyes

but
i want to be
your greatest
discovery

i want the smiles
the cups of coffees
the interrupting world
to come second to me.

i want
my fingertips
and
my whispering hips
to be
the only devices
strong enough
and full enough
to pull you from dystopia
and build you
a garden of eden
just beyond
the cave of reality.
